Our training does not focus on esoteric theory, but the immediate practical application of knowledge and techniques used in the industry today.

Darkwood Film Arts Institute To Hold  Annual Junior Film Camp : On the Set
 
 
NAME OF ACTIVITY:  JUNIOR FILMMAKING CAMP

SCHOLARSHIPS: Partial and full scholarship applications must be completed  by June 22th 5:00pm.  Call for form.
 
DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITY: Designed for (males & females) pre-teen (10-12) and teens (13-17), the camp teaches the real secrets of professional motion picture production. From screenwriting, film acting, directing, cinematography and movie terminology.
 
TIMES: 1pm to 5:00 pm

SESSION 1   June 23-27, 2008-Intro/1st time Moviemakers
This Camp runs 5 days: Learn the terms, the process and the techniques of documenting local events as a short Documentary movie.
Fees: $125 if paid in full by June 22nd 5:00pm.
A late fee of $25 will be added if paid after June 22nd.
 
 
*SESSION II    July 7-18, 2008-Continuing MovieMakers
*Preference: Enrolled in previous movie camp or have made a short 5 minute movie or get permission from instructor.  A few spaces will be made available for first time attendees.
 
COST: $250
Late fee of $25 will be added if not paid in full prior to or by June 30th.
 
Ask about our $50 sibling discount.
 
All session fees include daily snacks, handout materials, copy of movie project and camp t-shirt.

AGES: 10-17
 
INSTRUCTORS: Oscar Ray, Independent motion picture writer, producer, actor, F/X make-up artist, production designer, prop-master,  and director with over 25,000 hours of experience as a cinematographer. 
 
ShIronbutterfly, Independent film festival producer/director, instructor of Film at local community college, with numerous years as a motivational consultant and speaker.
 
MEALS/SNACKS: Snacks will be provided
 
REGISTRATION (begin and ends when?): April 1 to June 30

TRANSPORTATION: Parents must arrange transportation to and from training location.

This not for profit membership program has trained over 2000 individuals in motion picture production, professional screenwriting, cinematography, film acting and motion picture directing. It is the only full time motion picture production facility in the state Oklahoma and one of only two in the southwest.

Completed movie made it's world premiere at the Bare Bones Script-2-Screen Film Festival with most of the cast and crew in attendance.

After a full day of acting exercises, this November group of participants pose for their group photo.  Everyone gets a copy and exchange contact info with one another for future projects.   Great Networking!

YES, we do have lots of fun during our learning experiences, plus many producers in attendance are looking for talent for their upcoming movies and are able to get an upclose and personal.

Students are encouraged to build confidence and reduce inhibitions in front of an audience.
